PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material having good preservability. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material contains at least one compound of formula (I) wherein Y1 is a group of atoms required to form a heterocycle or a group of atoms required to form a benzene ring condensed with a heterocycle and the formed heterocycle or benzene ring may further be condensed with another carbocycle or heterocycle and may have a substituent; X1 is O, S, Se, Te, N or C; Q1 is a group required to form a methine dye by the compound of the formula (I); M1 is a counter ion equilibrated with an electric charge; and m1 is a number required to neutralize electric charges in each molecule.
