PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide steel with colored zinc-plated film by which a galvanized layer is hard to be worn, and. even if wear is caused, a silver - white metallic face is not easily exposed, and to provide a production method for producing the steel having the film with high operability. SOLUTION: The steel has a colored zinc-plated film, and is obtained by incorporating carbon into the galvanizing film. By the incorporation of the carbon into the zinc-plated film, the film is colored into a black base, and, by the lubrication action of the carbon, its wear resistance can be expected. Further, even when the galvanizing layer is worn, the black base is retained owing to the direct presence of the carbon in the zinc-plated film, an the silver - white zinc-plating is not easily exposed. Additionally, its corrosion resistance is attained by the zinc-plating.
