METHOD FOR PRODUCING HYDROXYSTYRENE SOLUTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a hydroxystyrene solution, by which the highly pure hydroxystyrene solution having a small ethylphenol content can be produced from a mixture containing the hydroxystyrene and the ethylphenol in a simple operation. SOLUTION: This method for producing the hydroxystyrene solution is characterized by distilling the mixture containing the hydroxystyrene and the ethylphenol in the presence of a polyhydric alcohol liquid at 20 deg.C and/or its derivative to remove the ethylphenol, thereby obtaining the polyhydric alcohol and/or its derivative solution of the hydroxystyrene as the residue.
