PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car body assembly method capable of easily securing the shape accuracy of a front window opening and a rear opening. SOLUTION: A pair of right and left side members is positioned in an under body 1 with a first jig, and the lower portion welding edges are fit to the right and left welding edges of the under body 1 (a first process). Crossing members such as a roof 3 and a header or a frame back are temporarily placed in the specified portions between upper end parts of right and left side members 2 (a second process). Members for forming the front window opening and the rear opening are positioned and welded with united second jigs (rectangular frame bodies 9, 10) cramping them in the specified rectangular shape (a third process).
