A cutting insert (21) for a borer or reamer (11) comprising a flat blade having a front face (25) with at least one cutting edge (22), the front face (25) having at least one depression (31), or dimple, having clamping faces (34) therein which are frustoconical and which in use engage a clamping screw (33) whereby the insert (21) is held in the reamer (11).
