PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a halogen- and antimony-free epoxy resin composition for casting, having excellent operability of the main ingredient regardless of a large amount of a metal hydrate compounded therewith for keeping the flame retardancy, and providing a cured product having maintained characteristics, and further to provide an electric or electronic part device using the epoxy resin composition. SOLUTION: This epoxy resin composition for the casting comprises main ingredient components and components for curing. The main indredient components consists essentially of (A) a halogen-free epoxy resin, (B) silica, (C) aluminum hydroxide and (D) 1,8-diazabicyclo(5,4,0)undecene-7 or an octylic acid salt hereof. The main ingredient is obtained by formulating the 0.0015-0.0050 pt.wt. component (D) with 100 pts.wt. epoxy resin, and previously mixing them. The components for the curing comprises (E) an acid anhydride curing agent and (F) a curing accelerator. |
