PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming and image information converting method and a device therefor in which different kinds of photosensitive materials such as APS film and 135 mm film can be treated by common equipment. SOLUTION: This device is provided with at least a film loading part, a film leading edge pulling-out part, a leader splicing part, a carrying part, a processing sheet supply part, a development processing solution applying part, a part for sticking the film and a processing sheet, a heat-developing part and a scanner reading part. Then, the 135 mm film or the APS film is set in the film loading part, and the leader splicing part is wider in width than that of film to be processed and is provided with perforation on one side or both sides, and a common leader is spliced with the leader splicing part. The carrying part is equipped with a member for regulating the traveling of both ends of the common leader and a leader carrying gear engaged with the perforation of the leader.
