PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient fuel injection valve capable of securing controllability and safety by preventing the clogging of a pin hole with dust contained in the fuel and capable of restricting the increase of the pressure loss of injected fuel. SOLUTION: An oil-tight chamber 62 is provided between a large diameter piston 61 driven by a piezoelectric actuator 14 and a small diameter piston member 63 for opening and closing a three-way valve 5 for elevating a nozzle needle 12. The oil-tight chamber 62 is communicated with a drain passage 2 reaching outside through a pin hole 8 provided in the lower end of the large diameter piston 61 and a passage 72, and a filter member 82 made of a sintered metal material is arranged in the passage 72. Since the flow quantity of the fuel in the passage 72 is very small, even if a filter having a fine stitch is installed, the pressure loss is restricted, and the dust contained in the fuel is eliminated to prevent the lowering of a function.
