ANTIGEN OF TRANSMEMBRANE ENVELOPE GLYCOPROTEIN OF HIV-2 HUMAN RETROVIRUS AND ANTIGEN HAVING IMMUNOLOGICAL SIMILARITY TO THE SAME ANTIGEN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyclonal antibody and a monoclonal antibody derived from an antigen of transmembrane envelope glycoprotein of HIV-2 human retrovirus and having immunological similarity to the said antigen, and to provide a hybridoma producing the polyclonal and the monoclonal antibodies. SOLUTION: The antibody derived from antigen existing only in a limited stage of human retrovirus HIV-2 infection suppresses the infection of HIV-2 by blocking such antigen formation or dissociation in the living body.
