RUBBER REINFORCING CARBON FIBER BUNDLE AND RUBBER REINFORCING CORD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber reinforcing carbon fiber bundle and a rubber reinforcing cord excellent in adhesiveness between the carbon fiber and the rubber compound and fatigue resistance to flexing deformation. SOLUTION: The rubber reinforcing carbon fiber bundle satisfies the equation: 4.0<=Pw<=6.0 wherein Pw (amount of water absorption) denotes a weight difference between before and after impregnation of the carbon fiber bundle in water. The rubber reinforcing cord is constituted by using the carbon fiber bundle which has been treated with a resorcinol-formalin-rubber latex mixture.
