PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithographic printing plate master in which excellent stain resistance and a high plate wear resistance are made compatible and further a dotted residual film is not generated and to provide a support for a lithographic printing plate used therefor. SOLUTION: The support for the lithographic printing plate is obtained by roughing and anodizing an aluminum plate. The support comprises the grained shape of the structure obtained by superposing a medium wave structure of a mean opening size of 0.5 to 5 μm and a small wave structure of a mean opening size of 0.01 to 0.2 μm on the surface in such a manner that the number of recesses each having a depth of 3 μm or more per 400 μm (square) of the surface is 1.5 or less piece.
