OPTICAL FILM AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film causing little curl of a liquid crystal cell when the film is attached to a liquid crystal display device and to provide a thin liquid crystal display device having little influences on the display performance of the device which uses the above film. SOLUTION: The optical film is obtained by integrating an absorption type polarizing plate and a reflection type polarizing plate having a polarization separation function with a pressure-sensitive adhesive. The thickness of the absorption type polarizing plate is controlled to <=50% of the total thickness of the optical film. The absorption type polarizing plate used comprises a polyvinylalcohol polarizer and a protective layer laminated on one face or both faces of the polarizer.
