PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screening method for a glaucoma remedy using a model animal in which a solution containing a cross-linking polymer with about 10% of an aqueous humor quantity is injected into the protomerite of the experimental animal, so as to induce its high ocular tension without substituting aqueous humor, in which a technique of breeding the experimental animal is simplified, in which a stimulus to the experimental animal can be reduced and which becomes a useful means in developing the glaucoma remedy. SOLUTION: The pharmacological screening method for the glaucoma remedy uses the experimental animal whose high ocular tension and optic nerve injury are induced by injecting the solution containing the cross-linking polymer. The cross-linking polymer is preferably a cross-linking carboxyvinyl polymer or a cross-linking polyvinyl alcohol.
