PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air-conditioning system for an automobile capable of improving an in-cabin environment without causing hindrance to traveling itself by electric power consumption of an electric compressor. SOLUTION: The air-conditioning system for the automobile is provided with a refrigerant circuit composed of the electric compressor 10 used in the automobile 1 provided with an on-vehicle battery 5 and driven by feeding from the on-vehicle battery 5, an air-conditioning controller 28 controlling operation of the electric compressor 10, an outside air temperature sensor 50 detecting an outside air temperature and an in-cabin temperature sensor 51 detecting an in-cabin temperature. The air-conditioning controller 28 operates the electric compressor 10 based on the temperatures detected by the outside air temperature sensor 51 and the in-cabin temperature sensor 51 during stoppage or parking of the automobile 1.
