PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a platen roller from being damaged and a printing head from being displaced by avoiding a contact of the platen roller to an upper face edge of the printing head when a lid body is operated to close. SOLUTION: The printer 10 is provided with the printing head 17 set to the side of a casing 11 and the platen roller 18 set to the side of the lid body 14. The printing head 17 is movable back and forth to the platen roller 18, and moreover is fixed to a printing head-supporting member 30 urged by a head urging spring 31 towards the platen roller 18. A contact part 30d is formed to the printing head-supporting member 30, which contacts a near part of a platen shaft 24 in front of a close position when the lid body 14 is operated to close, thereby temporarily retreating the printing head 17 from the platen roller 18. |
