PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent alumina contamination in method for obtaining sintered compacts of metal powder by the use of an alumina tray, and to manufacture the sintered compacts having excellent external surface appearance. SOLUTION: In this method for sintering metal-powder green bodies, an aqueous solution or alcoholic solution of magnesium nitrate hexahydrate is applied to the aluminum tray for placing the green bodies thereon and then sintering is carried out. Further, the powder-metal green bodies are metal injection molded green bodies.
