PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing methylamine, enabling a zeolite catalyst to be continuously used for a long period by providing a method for removing an aldehyde compound which causes reduction of the activity of a zeolite catalyst in a process for producing the methylamine. SOLUTION: The aldehyde compound in methanol is reacted with monomethylamine and/or ammonia, and the reacted product is discharged with water from the bottom of a methanol-recovering distillation column. The methanol is distilled off from the top and recovered, and the recovered methanol is recycled to the reactor in the method for producing the methylamine by using the zeolite catalyst.
