A method for displaying an electronic program guide wherein the EPG is received during a preset time interval and stored in a memory in a digital television comprising the steps of displaying a main menu having subtitles for grouping of channels according to categories, on selection of a subtitle, displaying a vertical list of all channels in that category and, on selection of a channel, displaying, in a box shaped layout 32, the details of the programs with marks 33 to indicates that the user can manipulate the display using directional keys. Preferably the EPG includes a banner title 25 in which advertisements may be displayed. |
