FUNCTIONAL OLIGOMER AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional oligomer that has the structure controlled in, e.g. molecular weight, terminals and the like. SOLUTION: The functional oligomer is produced by decomposing a synthetic resin in the presence of a terminal reactive substance which is reactive with the terminals of the oligomer in the synthetic resin at a reaction temperature lower than the thermal decomposition point of the synthetic resin. Waste plastics can utilized for producing the functional oligomer whereby the effective material cycle can be realized.
