The adhesive tape applicator has a front section (101), in which the reel (200) of tape is mounted. As the applicator is moved forward, the reel rotates backwards, so that its free end is unwound from its base, over the top of a pressure roller (106), with its non-sticky side in contact with the roller. It then passes under the pressure roller, sticky side down, and is pressed on to the surface (S) by it.
