PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the tip of a step plate from interfering with a riser of an adjacent footstep, and to prevent the generation of a gap between a riser and a step plate of footsteps adjacent to each other. SOLUTION: At a section between a horizontal section and a fixed inclination section on the ascending route side of a circulating passage, that is, upper and lower curved sections on the ascending route side, the shape of an auxiliary rail 22 is formed so that the movement track of the relative position of a lower footstep 2 to an upper footstep 2 of adjacent footsteps 2 is the same as the shape of the surface of a riser 5 of the upper footstep 2.
