PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of comparatively reducing a space in the direction of height required for storing a support body for supporting a medium sheet. SOLUTION: This ink jet printer is provided with an ink jet cartridge having a print head for injecting ink on the medium sheet and the support body adjacent to the cartridge and slidable in the horizontal direction substantially. The support body can slide substantially in the horizontal direction between a first position where the support body supports a part of the medium sheet when the medium sheet is printed and is fed toward a medium discharge region and a second position where the medium sheet can move into the medium discharge region freely.
