PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus parallelly equipped with two printing units and enabling the changeover of single surface printing by both printing units, double-side printing by both printing units and single surface printing by each of the printing units. SOLUTION: The printing apparatus is equipped with a first printing unit 1, a second printing unit 2 and an intermediate feed unit 3. The intermediate feed unit 3 is changed over so as to take either one of a first operation mode delivering printing paper from the first printing unit 1 to the second printing unit 2 without reversing the same, a second operation mode reversing the printing paper to deliver the same from the first printing unit 1 to the second printing unit 2 and a third operation mode not delivering the printing paper from the first printing unit 1 to the second printing unit 2. In the first and second operation modes, first and second drive means for individually driving the first and second printing units 1 and 2 are driven synchronously and, in the third operation mode, the first and second drive means can be individually driven. |
