摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a light omission, which causes lowering of contrast or lightness, larger than that in TN (twisted nematic) liquid crystal is generated in OCB (optically compensated birefrigent) liquid crystal when there is an area where a transverse electric field is applied. SOLUTION: In this liquid crystal display device, the applying of a transverse electric field is made to be the minimum by using a field inversion drive in the OCB liquid crystal in which flattening structure is used. Moreover, the applying of the transverse electric field is reduced by arranging a gate electrode or a source electrode on the lower layer of a pixel electrode.</p>
