PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel pump capable of reducing stay of a swirl current and reduction of speed to improve pump efficiency. SOLUTION: A blade groove 33 in an impeller is formed to satisfy following conditions on the forward side in a rotation direction of a blade plate 32: The largest width of the blade groove 33 in a rotation axis direction of the impeller is larger than width b at a tip 32c; a curved line C at an end part of the blade groove 33 on the side of a partition wall 31 is formed to have an angleθsmaller than 90 deg. formed by a supposed straight line L extended outward at the tip 32c and a rotation axis of the impeller. The width b of the blade groove 33 at the tip 32c is larger than 1/2 width 5 of the impeller; and the center of the curved line C is positioned inside the blade groove 33. With these conditions, fuel flowing from the blade groove forms a circular swirl current from close to an end part 30b on the opposite side to the end part 30a where the fuel flows in to flow out to a pump passage. Stay is not formed, therefore, and flow quantity and flow speed of fuel are increased, thereby pump efficiency is improved.
