METHOD FOR PRODUCING EMULSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an emulsion capable of ensuring good water dispersibility and having even excellent long-term storage stability by dispersing an alkoxysilane group-containing compound such as an organosilicate and/or its condensate in water with a specific ultrahigh-pressure homogenizer. SOLUTION: This method for producing the emulsion comprises dispersing the alkoxysilane group-containing compound (A) together with an emulsifying agent in an aqueous medium (B) using a dispersing machine for applying ultrahigh-pressure energy, making a fluid mutually collide and dispersing the fluid into a state of fine droplets into the aqueous medium. The ratio of the emulsifying agent (B) used is 1-50 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of solids of the compound (A). The resultant emulsion has <=10μm average particle diameter.
