PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive inorganic filler consisting of slaked lime which suppresses the increase of the viscosity of molten resin to be filled, has insulation properties, also combines dehydration properties and drip resistance, and has excellent flame retardancy as well. SOLUTION: The inorganic filler individually consists of slaked lime obtained by treating slaked lime in an autoclave, that obtained by autoclave-treating slaked lime with silica added and coating the same with calcium silicate, that obtained by treating quicklime in an autoclave and slaking the same, or that obtained by treating quicklime with silica added in an autoclave performing slaking and coating the same with calcium silicate. Any of these inorganic filler is added to a resin composition in this invention. The resin composition may be an electric wire coating material or wall paper.
