PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner, in which the durability and the reduction of noise of a motor-driven air blower can be improved at low cost and the suction work rate of the vacuum cleaner can be improved. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is provided with the motor-driven air blower 2, which is composed of a fan part 10 having a motor part 11, a suction part 18 and a discharge part 15 and a motor case 19 which has a suction port 20 communicated with the suction part 18 and covers the periphery of the motor- driven air blower 2, and is provided with a communication part 28 on the downstream side of the discharge part 15 while having a partition wall 22, and the motor case 19 is formed with an exhaust port 21 for exhausting a wind 9b generated from the motor-driven air blower 2 from the motor case 19 on the downstream side of the communication part 28. In such a vacuum cleaner, the motor part 11 can be cooled without a high-cost component such as a cooling fan.
