摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool of surface-coated cemented carbide with a hard coat layer achieving excellent abrasion resistance in high speed cutting work. SOLUTION: On the surface of base material of this tool composed of a WC cemented carbide or titanium carbon nitride cermet, through (a) a crystal orientation hysteresis layer comprising a Ti-Al composite carbide layer having 0.05-0.5μm average layer thickness, satisfying (Ti1- XAlX)N1- YCY (X is 0.01-0.15; Y is 0.01-0.15 in atomic ratio), having the highest peak at face (200) as measured by an X-ray diffraction device using a Cu-Kαray, and indicating an X-ray diffraction pattern of 0.6, or less for a half value breadth 2θof the highest peak, (b) the hard coat layer comprising Al-Ti-Si composite nitride layer having 2-10μm average layer thickness, satisfying (Al1-( A+ B) TiASiB)N (A is 0.35-0.55; B is 0.05-0.20), having the highest peak at face (200), and having that of 0.6 or less for a half value breadth 2θat the highest peak is formed by physical deposition.
