PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circular saw for performing stable cutting work particularly for an aluminum alloy even in using thinner chips for reducing the discharge quantity of chipped material. SOLUTION: The circular saw comprises a base plate, a plurality of chips joined to the outer periphery of the base plate, the base plate having a diameter D (mm) of 150 mm or larger and 600 mm or smaller and a thickness t (mm) satisfying 0.2×10<-4> <=t<3> /D<2> <=5.0×10<-4> , and a boss mounted on a device integrally with the base plate. It performs high sped cutting work at a peripheral speed of 4,000 m/min or higher and 10,000 m/min or lower.
