摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating cancerization degree of a specimen derived from a mammal, suitable for the evaluation of a diagnostic method for discovering the cancer in early stage, a therapeutic method or the like, and based on the detection of abnormality of a gene. SOLUTION: This method for evaluating the cancerization degree of the specimen derived from the mammal comprises (1) a first step for measuring methylation frequency of a heparan sulfate D-glucosaminyl 3-0-sulfotransferase gene included in the specimen derived from the mammal, or an index in correlation therewith, and (2) a second step for judging the cancerization degree of the specimen based on the difference obtained by comparing the methylation frequency or the index in correlation therewith, with that of a control.
