PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll baler having such a scheme that the opening/closing turning action of the rear chamber of a bale chamber is smoothly carried out and, while a locking mechanism is simple, a short to-be-formed material received into a hopper 2 is ensured to feed via the receiving port (a) of the bale chamber 4 into the bale chamber 4 by the aid of a conveyor 3. SOLUTION: This roll baler has the following scheme: a machine body 1 is mounted with the bale chamber 4 in such a posture that the receiving port (a) thereof is opened forward, the terminal end portion 3a of the conveyor 3 is so designed that the conveying surface represent a slope c downwardly inclined rearward; wherein the bale chamber 4 is mounted on the machine body 1 in such a manner that the slope c is disposed at a position so as to represent part of the peripheral wall of the bale chamber 4 against the lower half side of the circumferential surface of a roll bale R formed inside the bale chamber 4 at the receiving port (a) site of the bale chamber 4.
