PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a light guide plate, which has an incident surface having a light source arranged in the vicinity thereof and an emitting surface emitting the incident light arriving from the incident surface and is used in a state incorporated in a surface light source device along with the light source. SOLUTION: A gate is arranged on the side of the incident surface of the light guide plate and a molten material is injected in a cavity for forming the light guide plate from the position corresponding to the incident surface of the light guide plate.
