PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which is suitable for controlling the temperature of the specimen of an organic substance and with which an inner space is readily cleaned and temperature is surely kept constant. SOLUTION: The interface of an internal space 2 of an incubation and storage device 1 is thermally connected to a heat transfer element 3 attached to the outside. The heat transfer element 3 has a liquid heat carrier to be passed through the inside and circulated and is equipped with a means for cooling and heating the heat carrier. The heating and/or cooling of the internal space 2 is indirectly carried out through the liquid heat carrier. In this case, a heat transfer means 9 and a cooling heat transfer means/evaporator 7 are installed. The heat transfer element 3 is designed, for example, as a box-like or tube-like coil. The temperature regularity of the inside of the device 1 is readily obtained and the internal space 2 is readily cleaned by using the heat carrier. The combination of indirect cooling and heating is especially suitable for the inside temperature close to the ambient temperature.
