<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the yardages of shots. SOLUTION: In an iron type golf club head 1 having a face part which hits balls. The face part 4 has a thin area 8 with the thickness of 3.0 mm or less. The length L1 of the thin area is set at 30 mm or more in a first head cross section in which a normal drawn on the face plane from the center of gravity of the head passes through a sweet spot SS crossing the face plane 4 while the straight line thereof is the shortest between intersections with the outer periphery on the side of the top part of the thin area and the outer periphery on the side of the sole part thereof.</p> |
