PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for remelting a cylinder head by which the part to be remelted in a cast aluminum-made cylinder head base material is remelted with little defect. SOLUTION: Coating agent 10m having small grain diameter is applied on the inner surface of a mold corresponding to the surface of the part 5 to be remelted in the structure of an excess thickness part in the aluminum-made cylinder head base material 1 and coating agent 10n having large grain diameter is applied on the inner surface of the mold corresponding to the other surface of the cylinder head base material 1, and the cylinder head base material 1 is cast. Thereafter, the part 5 to be remelted in the cylinder head base material 1 is remelted.
