PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably exchange a belt for driving an agitator in a vacuum cleaner, in which the agitator is provided in a sucking port. SOLUTION: The agitator 110 is located in a first sucking port 81 provided on a sucking port body 70. Whether the agitator 110 is to be driven or to be stopped is selected by exchanging a belt 113 between a driving pulley 112 to be rotated integrally with the agitator 110 and an idler 114 which can be rotated independently of the agitator 110. A fork 150 for exchanging the belt 113 is turned around an axial line parallel to the extending direction of the belt 113 with a supporting part 152 as a center. In the fork 150, its body 151 is metallic and its pivotally supporting part 152 is made of a synthetic resin. Parallel wall pars 151a on the top end of the body 151 in contact with the belt 113 are away from the pivotally supporting part 152 for a prescribed distance or more. A stopper means 153 determines the turning limit of the fork 150.
