A composite film, comprises a polyethylene layer between a sealable biaxially oriented polypropylene film (A) and a transparent or printed biaxially oriented polypropylene film (B). An Independent claim is also included for production of the composite film by either: (a) bonding a polyethylene film to film B at elevated pressure and temperature and laminating the polyethylene side of the product to film A using an adhesive; (b) bonding a polyethylene film to film A at elevated pressure and temperature and laminating the polyethylene side of the product to film B using an adhesive; or (c) melting polyethylene in an extruder and applying it between films A and B so that the films are bonded together by hardening of the polyethylene.
