METHOD OF FABRICATING PREFORM FOR GLASS FERRULE

PURPOSE: A method of fabricating a preform for glass ferrule is provided to simplify a fabricating process and reduce a fabricating cost by forming various options of ferrule with only one fabricating process. CONSTITUTION: Sol including a glass material is prepared. Two bars(200) is installed into a cylindrical mold(100). The bars(200) penetrates the cylindrical mold(100). The bars(200) are symmetrical to a center axis of the cylindrical mold(100). An interval between the bars(200) is changed to a longitudinal direction of the cylindrical mold(100). The inside of the cylindrical mold(100) is filled with the sol. The sol is changed into the gel. The bars(200) and the cylindrical mold(100) are removed therefrom. A preform is fabricated by performing drying process and an annealing process for the sol.
