PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow response by one kind of version up file in relation to a version up method of a system program even when the present version is any stage of version. SOLUTION: A system program of the initial version is stored in a storage device 2 apart from the presently operating system program. As the version up file 3, a file for upgrading the system program from the initial version to the latest version is prepared. In upgrading the version, a copy of the system program of the initial version in an empty region of the storage device 2 is generated, the copy of the system program of the initial version is updated to the system program of the latest version using the version up file 3. Then, the operating system program is switched to the system program of the latest version.
