PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently supply a selection signal to multiplexed pixels. SOLUTION: Between time t0 and t2, firstly between time t0 and t1, a scanning lines Gn+1 and Gn+2 are selected and a pixel electrode A11 is driven, and following this, between the time t1 and t2, only Gn+1 is selected and a pixel electrode B11 is driven. Moreover, between the time t1 and t2, the scanning lines Gn+3 and Gn+4 are also selected and a pixel electrode A12 is driven. After the time t2, at least one of the scanning lines Gn+3 and Gn+4 is not selected until both of the scanning lines Gn+3 and Gn+4 are selected between time t4 and t5 and the pixel electrode A12 is driven. Thus, the pixel electrode A12 is preliminarily driven between the time t1 and t2, and is able to maintain a preliminarily applied potential until it is driven between the time t4 and t5.
