PURPOSE: A book data service method is provided to manage image files and data on books made by a publisher system, and to offer the image files and data on books to a user if the user requests to browse them. CONSTITUTION: A user searches for desired book data by using a search engine or a web directory system(402). If the desired book data is searched for, the user moves to an introduction page for the searched book data(404). If the user clicks on a book data browse button, a book data service program installation software is automatically downloaded at a user terminal(406), and then executed(408). At the same time, an ISBN(International Standard Book Number) code, corresponding to the searched book data, is transmitted to the book data service program(410). Then, the book data service program requests a book data service system to search for the images and data on the corresponding book by using the transmitted ISBN code(412). The book data service system transmits the requested images and data to the program(414), and then the program displays the images and data on the searched book(416).
