PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix type liquid crystal display device of which the vertical resolution is deteriorated little to interlaced signals or interlaced display signals converted from the progressive signals. SOLUTION: In the active matrix type liquid crystal display device which is provided with column signal electrodes D1-Dn, row scanning electrodes G1-Gm, switching transistor Tr and pixels PIX arranged in a matrix form at each part crossing the column electrodes, and shift registers 22, 4 for supplying pulses to each row, and in which the display signals are supplied in an interlaced scanning form consisting of the odd-number field periods composed of odd- number scanning line information and the even-number field periods composed of even-number scanning line information, the odd number row scanning electrodes are made effective periods for the odd-number field periods and each even-number scanning period is turned on for a horizontal blanking period, and the odd-number row scanning electrodes are made effective periods for the even-number field periods and each odd-number scanning electrode is turned on for a horizontal blanking period. |
