METHOD FOR DECIDING ON GENUINENESS OF WATERMARKED PAPER, WATERMARKED PAPER, AND DISCRIMINATING TOOL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for deciding on the genuineness of a watermarked paper, a watermarked paper, and a discriminating tool, with the watermark, conventionally invisible to the naked eye but with help of transmitted light, turning visible when the tool is brought into contact with the watermark or when a white light beam is projected on the watermark. SOLUTION: A watermark is provided in a paper 1, and a line pattern or a halftone pattern is printed on a discriminating tool 2 which is a light permeable substrate. The pattern printed surface of the tool 2 is brought into close contact with the watermark. provided in the paper 1. Upon observation of the region wherein the tool 2 is in close contact with the watermark, the watermark may be seen with the naked eye.
