PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus that can revise a magnification factor in the main scanning direction at an optional position in one line without the need for using a line memory for storing interpolation output position coordinate storage and eliminate the need for the memory for coordinate storage so as to reduce the circuit scale and the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: An output coordinate calculation section 26 calculates coordinates of output pixels. The output coordinate calculation section 26 selects a proper magnification factor in magnification factors (α,β) stored in a magnification factor storage section 25 and adds the magnification factor to an output coordinate (N-1) of one preceding pixel stored in an output coordinate storage section 27 to produce an output coordinate (N).
