PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of securing safety even in an abnormal situation such as breakage by force from the outside. SOLUTION: A power generation element 10 of this battery is covered with a conductive body 20 composed of a positive electrode conductive material 21 electrically connected to a positive electrode plate 11, a negative electrode conductive material 22 electrically connected to a negative electrode plate 14 and a separator 17, and the electric resistance per unit length of at least one of the conductive material 21 and the conductive material 22 is set smaller than that of collectors 12 and 15 electrically connected to the conductive body 20. By composing a structure like that, a large current generated in an internal short circuit can rapidly be dispersed between the positive and negative conductive materials 21 and 22, so that an outstanding effect for preventing excessive heat generation of the battery can be achieved. |
