PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the conventional image output apparatus for displaying images from a plurality of video camera and composite images thereof on divided screens does not superpose and display a mark, e.g. cross line mark on the screen of a monitor, irrespective of the display mode thereof, and, if a technique for displaying the mark superposed on the screen is only applied, the apparatus cannot well display the mark in some display modes. SOLUTION: The image output apparatus has a selection switch means which inputs image signals from a plurality of video camera, outputs the image signals from the video cameras individually as output signals, or combines the image signals from the plurality of video camera, and displays the signals as output signals on divided screens one video camera signal to one screen. The apparatus comprises a mark generating means for displaying a mark on each image from the video camera, as needed, and a means for superposing the mark signals from the mark generating means on the image signals from the video cameras.
