PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver capable of performing stable reception, even if there are changes in a modulation factor or neighboring interference. SOLUTION: The receiver comprises a neighboring interference signal detecting means 19 for detecting the fact that the signal of a frequency selected with a tuning means is interfered by neighboring radio waves, a modulation factor detecting means 20 for detecting a modulation factor of the tuned frequency, a comparison determining means 22 for comparing the output signals from the means 19 and 20 with respective thresholds and outputting the results of comparison, and an intermediate frequency filter control means 18 for switching the bandwidth of an intermediate filtering means 14, on the basis of the results of comparison. When the signal of the frequency, selected by the tuning means 12, is interfered by the neighboring radio waves, the means 18 controls the bandwidth of the means 14 according to the output signals of the means 19 and 21.
