PURPOSE: A multi-beam scanning device is provided to improve the image quality by using a position and an angle of a prism and a reflective side. CONSTITUTION: The first and the second semiconductor lasers(101a,101b) are used for emitting the first and the second laser beams. The first and the second collimators or coupling lenses(102a,102b) are arranged at positions corresponding to the first and the second semiconductor lasers(101a,101b). A synthesis and control portion(103) synthesizes and controls the first and the second laser beams which are transmitted through the first and the second collimators or coupling lenses(102a,102b). A cylindrical lens(104) is used for generating linear images arrayed according to each path of the first and the second laser beams. An optical deflector(105) includes a rotary polygon mirror(105a) for deflecting the reflective direction of the first and the second laser beams.
