PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the cycle life at high temperatures of a sealed lead-acid battery using a negative electrode plate composed by filling a porous plate with an active material mix prepared by adding and mixing an additive in a negative electrode active material. SOLUTION: The additive added in the negative electrode active material comprises three constituents such as carbon, barium sulfate and lignin. This sealed lead-acid battery uses the negative electrode plate composed by filling the active material mix prepared by adding and mixing the additive to the negative electrode active material at a mixing ratio A into the inside of the plate, by filling an active material mix prepared by adding mixing the additive to the negative electrode active material at a mixing ratio B on the front surface side of the plate, and by setting the ratio A/B of the additives in the range of 0.1-0.8.
